March 2025 Stimulus Payments: Which States Are Sending Checks This Month?

Financial relief programs continue to support low-income families across the U.S. in March 2025, with several states offering stimulus payments to help offset rising costs.

Here are three key programs providing direct payments this month.
 

1. Sacramento Family First Program

The Sacramento Family First Economic Security Pilot (FFESP) provides monthly payments to selected families to reduce economic inequality and improve child well-being.

  • Payment Amount: $725 per month

  • Duration: December 15, 2024 - November 15, 2025

  • Next Payment Date: March 15, 2025

  • How It’s Paid: Direct deposit to the bank account linked to recipients' tax returns
     

2. Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD)

The Alaska Permanent Fund was created in 1976 to distribute the state’s oil revenues directly to residents, helping cover essential costs such as housing, food, and healthcare.

  • Payment Amount: $1,702

  • Eligibility: Approximately 600,000 Alaskans qualify

  • Next Payment Date: March 20, 2025 (for 2024 and prior-year applications in 'Eligible-Unpaid' status as of March 12, 2025)

3. New York Tax Refund Stimulus

New York is offering a middle-class tax rebate funded by sales tax revenue, benefiting up to 8.6 million residents. This is part of Governor Kathy Hochul’s plan to combat inflation and return funds to taxpayers.

  • Payment Amount: $300 - $500 per eligible household

  • Total Funds Distributed: $5.5 billion in rebates, refunds, and supplemental payments

  • Next Payment Date: March 2025 (following processing delays from February)
