Many Americans may still be eligible for a $1,400 stimulus check under the Recovery Rebate Credit, but some may not realize they need to take action to claim it.

Who Is Eligible for the $1,400 Stimulus?

This stimulus payment was originally part of the American Rescue Plan, and taxpayers who did not receive the full amount may still be able to claim it through their tax returns.

To qualify, you must:

  • Not have already claimed the Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2021 tax return.

  • Meet the income eligibility criteria set by the IRS.

  • Have filed a 2020 or 2021 tax return (or need to file one to claim it).
