Millions More Unemployed, But Zero Benefits Paid

No matter where you stand on political issues, and no matter how you feel about the current administration, the fact is that the economy is the worst it's ever been in America. False, cherry-picked statistics notwithstanding, food is up over 30% and rising, along with fuel, medical costs, electricity, etc. Another thing that's drastically up: Unemployment. In the month of November alone, 4.5 million Americans quit their jobs due to a mix of mandates and low pay.
Before you go thinking that these Americans will tax the system, understand that these unemployed Americans are not eligible to draw unemployment benefit payments from the state or the federal level. They are victims of a government that has entirely turned its back on its citizens in favor of corporations and migrants.
The Fantastic Biden Economy
According to the Joe Biden administration, their economy is booming. Press Secretary Jen Psaki, when asked about how Americans should handle the highest inflation rates ever (USD relative), said that Americans should just refrain from buying items. That's how they will beat inflation; just don't spend money. That's how great this American economy currently is. "Oh, so you can't afford to live? Then you obviously are okay." It's the weirdest thing most Americans have experienced in terms of politics. An entire media apparatus that drones on about an "insurrection" that took place last year, and rising virus rates, yet outright ignores the fact that people are falling into poverty as if a bridge collapsed, and nobody has a word to say about it, other than lies about how strong the economy is.
What's worse for most people who have quit their jobs in the past year is that they are ineligible to draw benefits. In fact, unemployment benefits have expired entirely for over 9 million Americans in the past year. What does this mean for those Americans? Well, it mainly means that they get dropped from the unemployed list by the federal government. In other words, for every American whose benefits have expired, this means one less person that counts as unemployed. So not only does the government no longer have to pay you if you're unemployed, they can use your misfortune to make themselves look better by claiming you are no longer unemployed. What a system.
Workers Rights No Longer a Concern
Most of you are old enough to remember 2020 and the years previous, where everyone from the Democratic Party (main) to the Democratic Socialists of America constantly spoke about how workers deserved more rights. In fact, this is the entire reason unions exist in America. The thought of employers being able to get away with poor working conditions and low pay was something likened to slave labor, and so people fought for decades in America to unionize in order for better treatment and more payment. Under President Trump, there were many different protests and politicians arguing for better pay and treatment of America's workers. Though now that America has a new President in office, workers rights are no longer a concern. There are no long, drawn-out speeches given on the floor of Congress about greedy corporations. Those so-called socialists seem to be on the side of corporations all the sudden. Nobody seems to care that over 9 million people quit their jobs in 2021, not even counting the huge self-purge in November when 4.5 million more joined them.
In total, the year of 2021 saw nearly 15 million Americans walk out and quit their jobs, most of whom cite the fact that they're not being paid enough to get by in an economy where they cannot afford to live. Their reasoning is that if they're going to be poor and cannot afford anything, why offer their labor on top of that? They would rather just be poor. It stands to reason that all of these big-talking politicians and groups would come to their aid and back them; however, that is simply not the case. These workers who have quit their jobs will not be entitled to draw unemployment benefits at the state or the federal level, and the federal government cares so little about these people that they are not even counted as unemployed.
The Biden Administration gets to flaunt a low unemployment rate, when in reality there are more people unemployed in America than were unemployed during the Great Depression. These people simply do not exist to the government, which is understandable. Partisan politics never involve making yourself look bad. The real issue here is that all of those workers' rights organizations, Bernie Sanders and his call for higher pay, etc -- they're just silent now, as millions upon millions of people plunge into poverty in the supposed richest nation on Earth.
