Stimulus Payments in December 2025: Here’s Who Is Getting Checks

As 2025 wraps up, many households across the U.S. are still feeling the effects of stubbornly high prices.

While federal stimulus programs have long ended, a few states continue to provide targeted financial support to help residents manage rising costs.

Two states offering payments in December 2025 are Alaska and New York, each through its own state-funded program.

Alaska: Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD)

Alaska continues its tradition of issuing the Permanent Fund Dividend, an annual payment funded by the state’s oil revenue investment earnings.

PFD Amount for 2025: Eligible residents receive $1,000.

Most payments for the year have already been disbursed, but some applicants are still awaiting approval. If your application is pending, additional payout rounds are scheduled.

Remaining Payout Dates:

  • December 18, 2025 — For applications finalized by December 10

  • January 15, 2026 — For applications finalized by January 7

Anyone still waiting should log in to their PFD account to confirm their status and ensure all required documents are submitted.

New York: Inflation Relief Rebate

New York launched its Inflation Relief Check as part of the 2025–2026 state budget to help residents cope with high living expenses.

This is a one-time payment and the first of its kind for the state.

Checks began rolling out in late September 2025, and because more than 8 million residents qualify, the distribution is happening in multiple phases.

What Recipients Should Know:

  • Payments may arrive anytime from late September 2025 through early 2026.

  • Taxpayers should monitor their mail closely.

  • Make sure your mailing address is current with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance to prevent delays.
